Battle of the Little Bighorn - Custer's Last Stand

On June 25th, 1876, Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and the U.S. Seventh Cavalry led a strike force of 647 men against the Lakota, Sioux, and Cheyenne Indians in southeastern Montana. This battle became known as The Battle of the Little Bighorn, or Custer's Last Stand. To the Native Americans it was called the Battle of the Greasy Grass.

By the end of the day, the battle was over and Custer and more than 200 of his men lay dead. This is the story of that battle, of it's origins and aftermath.
